Who I Am

Kris Amos is a poet from the west side of Detroit, MI. He began writing poetry at the age of eleven and has continued to develop in his craft. He writes with music in mind and pushes the boundary of what poetry can be. Amos works as a licensed professional counselor at Michigan State University. He has a four year old daughter who inspired this current work. The toddler stage is a phase that is full of fun, exploration, and learning. For parents, it can also be challenging as it places additional strain on our already limited reserves. "'Cause I'm a Baby!" was written from the child's perspective to encourage patience, normalize behavior, and educate on human development. Although it is a children's book, it is written with parents in mind.
